Barrister Paul Simo

Barrister Simo specializes in public, constitutional, and international law. He has a 20-year career (1999 to 2018) working on countries undergoing peace-processes and political transitions in East, Central, and West Africa. Between 2007 and 2018, he served as staff and consultant to the United Nations, including at Headquarters, and in multi-dimensional peace operations in Africa. In that capacity, he worked with UN entities on respective peace/reconstruction processes in Uganda (LRA conflict), DR Congo (regional conflagration in the 2000s), Burundi (2000s peace process), Sierra Leone and Liberia (Mano River region conflicts in the early 2000s), and the Central African Republic (escalation of politico-religious violence since 2013). He was valedictorian of the 2nd batch in Law from the University of Buea, Cameroon (LL.B. 1996) and holds a graduate law degree, summa cum laude, from the Catholic University of Notre Dame, Indiana. He is an Attorney at the Bar of New York (2001) and a Barrister in Cameroon (2010).

Dr. Eric-Adol Gatsi Tazo

Dr. Gatsi Tazo holds Bachelors (2005), Masters (2009), and Doctoral (2016) degrees in Law from the Faculty of Law and Political Science at the University of Dschang, Cameroon. He specialises in the areas of Public Law (Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Human Rights), and CEMAC Community Regional law. He has consulted among others for national and regional organisations on Cameroon’s electoral legal framework, and on the crisis in the Anglophone regions. His academic works on election management, electoral litigation, political campaign finance in Cameroon, the role of the Senate, administrative law, and CEMAC community law have been published in the Revue du Droit Public et de la Science Politique en France et à l’Etranger, the Revue General de Droit (University of Ottawa, Canada), Uniform Law Review (International Institute for the Unification of Private Law, Rome, Italy), and the Revue International de Droit Comparé (Paris, France).
